Machinable Ceramics
Tucson, Arizona, USA
Skyline Components, LLC
Machinable Ceramics can be machined into complicated shapes
using conventional metal working tools. Neither diamond grinding,
nor post firing is required after machining. Therefore, Turnaround of
a machinable ceramic component can be much faster than
conventional engineering ceramics. Machinable ceramics have
good electrical and thermal insulation, although their mechanical
properties tend to be lower than those of other engineered ceramics.

We supply machinable ceramic materials in rods
and plates. We provide machining service, too
.

Characteristics

  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Excellent electrical insulation
  • High temperature stable (up to 1000°C)
  • Thermal expansion matching most metals and sealing
    glasses
  • Tight machining tolerance (up to 10 microns)
  • No outgasing in vacuum environments
