Fiberglass mesh filters are made of
specially treated silica fiberglass yarn
and coated with special resin. They are
brown with resin coating or black with
smokeless carbonized treatment. The
filters can effectively remove slags,
refractory particles and non-metallic
inclusions from molten metals. They are
capable of withstanding pouring
temperatures up to 1620°C, or 1640°C
coated with zirconia. Silica mesh filters
are ideal for in-mold filtration of ductile
cast irons, non-ferrous aluminum,
copper-based metal alloys and steel
casting filtration.
Characteristics
o Low cost and easy to use
o Improves fluidity and metal distribution
o Removes micron sized inclusions and
impurities
o Reduce turbulance
o Minimize gating system to reduce cost
